Makara Vilakku is a grand festival celebrated at the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple, closely associated with the Makara Sankranti. It takes place on the day marking the transition of the Malayalam month Dhanu into Makaram. The festival is renowned for its spiritual significance and unique rituals.
